Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering 

  • Identify internal data sources (locations/systems/DB) across the organisation, as well as external data sources (open data APIs). 

  • Be able to select relevant data sources (internal and/or external) for each request/dashboard/analysis. 

  • Build, maintain, and improve key datasets. 

  • Automate and improve the process of data gathering and cleaning. 

  • Translate business requirements and match them to processes and data flows. 

Data Analysis 

  • Create reports and prepare data driven recommendations to key stakeholders within SED Fund. 

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (business analysis, subject matter experts, data engineers, architects, managers, C-level, etc.) across the organisation to turn data into actionable insights. 

  • Engage in statistical analysis to identify trends in datasets and use data visualisation to represent these trends. 

Change and Learning 

  • Support the development of detailed knowledge and documentation about various data sources, within the overall master data management landscape at SED Fund. 

  • Formulate lessons learned and use them as a leverage for the teamwork and projects. 

Experiences and Competencies

The successful candidate must possess the following:

  • A degree in an relevant field.  

  • 2-3 years of relevant professional experience. 

  • Proven experience with Python, Power BI, SQL, DAX, Power Query are required. 

  • Experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud environment and data system architecture is a strong advantage. 

  • Experience with relational databases is an advantage. 

  • Proven attention to detail, good active listening and a strong problem solver. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English. 

  • Passionate about climate action with a genuine interest in the mission and values of SED Fund.  

What we offer

Employment and Benefits

We offer a 1-year fixed term contract. While there may be a possibility of extension, renewal is not guaranteed and will depend on organisational needs. The annual salary band for this position (excluding 8% holiday allowance paid in May and 13th month paid in November) is between € 49,216 and € 54,685, depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. Candidates with outstanding experience may be appointed at a higher grade. The organisation also offers a generous benefits package in line with local standards. This will be a full-time (40 hours/week) hybrid role and will require considerable time flexibility to support and collaborate with staff and stakeholders in multiple time zones.

About the Role

The Sustainability, Equity and Diversity Fund, SED Fund, IT team is expanding the organisation’s digital capabilities to harness digital and AI enablement. SED Fund’s data strategy encompasses internal and external data sets, from partners and within our ecosystem, with the aim to build robust data foundations for data management, governance, and innovation.  

The SED Fund data team plays a pivotal role in making the organisation more data driven, by leading the implementation of the data strategy. The team also works on data architecture, engineering, analytics, and visualisation across the organisation. The data team guides all teams within SED Fund to enhance alignment and data literacy throughout the organisation. SED Fund uses primarily Azure Cloud to host its infrastructure and applications, while also leveraging other technological platforms for innovative data projects. 

As a Data Analyst, you will become involved in the capturing and analysis of business needs and translating them to data collections, visualisations and applications. You will be responsible for the creation and continued improvement of strategic reports and dashboards. You will support various business stakeholders across SED Fund’s Programmes and Operations team to embrace data driven approaches. You should have the ability to map business requirements and effectively translate them to data products. It is essential that you are a team player, and you must be able to align different stakeholders, in a complex environment, and provide a clear path for delivering quality reports.
