Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed analysis of social listening data, identify trends, sentiment, and emerging topics.

  • Monitor media platforms and channels (electronic, print and digital media) and analyse the narratives in the media landscape.  

  • Support the StratComms manager in putting together biweekly social listening reports including observations, analysis/insights and recommendations, trends as well as weekly media narrative briefs.

  • Collaborate with the internal teams to understand needs and translate them into effective social listening and media monitoring strategies. 

  • Stay updated on industry best practices, tools, and technologies related to social listening and media monitoring 

  • Support other communications and social media activities as needed from time to time including social media management and marketing, copywriting and digital media planning.

Experiences and Competencies

  • Must be enrolled as a student of a Bachelor or Master’s in Communication or Marketing with an interest in Development and Environmental fields based in The Hague, Netherlands. 

  • Preferably at least 1 year of work experience (including Internships, volunteer work and part time work) with some experience/interest in Communication activities. 

  • Prior experience with any social listening tool (especially Pulsar) is helpful but is not mandatory as training/refresher will be provided. 

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy and quality. 

  • Strong verbal and written skills in English. 

  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with high discretion. 

  • Display strong interpersonal skills and have a customer-service mindset. 

  • Collegial and hands on, with an appreciation of the role of a grant making institution. 

  • Computer literate.

Employment and Benefits

Internship Reimbursement: This is an internship (32 hours per week) with a duration of 6 months. SED Fund offers a reimbursement of 800 Euros per month.

Location

The location will be split between working from home and SED Fund’s office in The Hague. You must be a student at a registered educational institution in the Netherlands and be within commuting distance to The Hague.

About the Role

We are seeking a Communications Intern to support our communications team at SED Fund for 6 months. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring the media landscape, extracting valuable insights and helping us shape our communication strategies.

The Communications Intern will support the Strategic Communications Manager in their daily functions. We are looking for a hands-on and self- motivated learner who is willing to learn and grow in the Climate and Energy space. We are a small but passionate and collaborative group of people, and you will be offered the possibility of learning within the Communications function and other programmatic areas and contributing to the organisational goals and growth.
