Key Responsibilities
Prepare targeted funder-related proposals and reports, using the data and evidence of our progress and impact.
Write compelling content by taking complex information and presenting it in a clear and powerful way that fits our tone of voice. Formats include; presentations, briefing materials for donor meetings, site visits, key events and stories of impact.
Ensure that the work of our grantees and the voices of the people and communities our grantees work with are represented fairly.
Support all forms of engagement with funders, including content and in person activities.
Ensure that SED Fund’s institutional materials for donor engagement purposes are kept up to date.
Work with Senior Impact Manager to write and produce the annual Impact Report for funders and other key external audiences.
Collaborate with the Senior Impact Manager to ensure high quality, timely and consistent reporting and regular updates for funders.
Collaborate with the Senior Strategic Communications Manager to ensure that reports, updates and briefings for funders are in line with our Communications Strategy.
Provide input towards the development of the content management systems to streamline the narrative creation process.
Experiences and Competencies
The successful candidate must possess the following:
Bachelor’ degree in a related field.
Strong storytelling skills with at least 3-4 years of demonstrated experience of creating compelling content in order to engage with philanthropies and family offices.
Exceptional written English language skills and the ability to effectively adapt the content to the required audience.
Autonomous, adaptable, flexible and able to deliver within tight deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a collaborative environment across teams.
Strong interest and genuine alignment in the mission and values of SED Fund, and passionate about climate action.
What we offer
Employment and Benefits
We offer a 1-year fixed term contract, with the intention to renew long term. The annual salary band for this position (excluding 8% holiday allowance paid in May and 13th month paid in November) is between €50,5693 and €66,000 depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The organisation also offers a generous benefits package in line with local standards. This will be a full-time (40 hours/week) hybrid role based in our office in The Hague (average 2 times a week) and from your home address in The Netherlands, and will require some time flexibility to support and collaborate with staff and stakeholders in multiple time zones. We unfortunately cannot offer VISA sponsorship or relocation support for this position.

About the Role
The Sustainability, Equity and Diversity Fund (SED Fund) is seeking an experienced fundraising communications professional to serve as a key partner in advancing our philanthropic mission, through strategic donor communications and compelling storytelling. The Associate, Fundraising Communications will sit at the intersection of fundraising and strategic communications, translating our impact into narratives that inspire continued investment and engagement from philanthropic partners.
This position requires exceptional writing ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to craft messages for diverse audiences ranging from major individual donors and family offices to well established foundations.
Reporting to the Director, Philanthropic Partnerships: You will collaborate closely with the Senior Strategic Communications Manager and the Senior Strategy Manager.
Candidates must have the independent and legal right to live and work in the Netherlands. Candidates based in the Netherlands are expected to work hybrid from their home office and the SED Fund office in the Hague. We unfortunately cannot offer visa sponsorship or relocation support for this position.
In this role, you will be expected to:
Apply your ability to write and produce content for European and US-based philanthropies and family offices.
Present information succinctly and in a visual way that adds understanding to the content.
Ensure that materials fall within the brand guidelines and meet data quality standards of SED Fund.
Support the leadership in all forms of engagement with funders, including cultivation and stewardship touch points and related follow-ups, funder briefings, and events.
Bring meticulous attention to detail and the ability to translate complex programmatic work into accessible narratives.
Be comfortable working with data and evaluation metrics.
Be flexible in meeting deadlines and competing demands.
